MEALS OF KINDNESS (GRIEF SUPPORT)

This comforting ministry provides practical support during a difficult time for families.

Whenever there is a funeral at Eastern Hills, this ministry provides a meal for the family. Participants in this ministry help prepare, serve and clean up after the meal.

This exciting ministry is a two-day, three-day or five-day a week preschool for our church and community.  The ages that we serve are 6 weeks to 5 years (Pre-K).  We share the love of God with each child, helping them to know of His love for them.  It provides the children with Biblical teaching as well as preparing them for Kindergarten.  We provide basic teaching of art, phonics, math, physical education, Bible and music.

Angel Keepers’ purpose is to provide quality preschool education in a positive Christian environment, which enhances growth academically, socially, physically and spiritually.

Each new baby that is born in Athens, Texas, receives a personal visit and a gift bag from our church.

Baby Bags are delivered 365 days a year.  The visits are brief and friendly – expressing joy and best wishes to each new parent.

We have two wonderful opportunities for your preschool age children on Sunday mornings following our partaking of the Lord’s Supper. Babies up to 17 months are provided a nursery staffed by loving, adult ladies.  The nursery is located off the auditorium West Wing, just across the hall from the Ladies restroom.Children ages 3 yrs through 2nd grade are welcome to attend CHILDREN’S WORSHIP.  The team of volunteers invite you to the East Wing, 2nd floor for an exciting, active worship experience geared specifically for the little ones.

Pioneer Clubs is a God-honoring and Jesus-teaching ministry for ages 2-6th grade.  We share the scriptures as God’s inspired word and that He has authority in all aspects of our lives.  Let us help you bring your children up following Jesus.  There are 5 classes (groups), divided by age, on Sunday, 9 a.m. and Wednesday, 7 p.m.  Various activities and crafts help  to build lasting relationships with friends and teachers.

The purpose of Celebrate Recovery Ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles.”  This experience allows us to “be changed.”  By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually.  We become free of our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.  This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.

To change lives by changing hearts.  Everybody’s “heart knower” is God.  Unless there is a major turning of the heart and mind, there is no new person.  Knowing that lives are transformed by the power of God, we persuade men and women to be reconciled to God.  Upon reconciliation to God, we help the reconciled rebuild their broken worlds and relationships in the context of a church family.  Every person reconciled to God is added to the body of Christ (the church) and grows to be a fully mature disciple of Jesus in the body of Christ.  That relationship with the church is absolutely essential to the health and well-being of an individual.  It’s by God’s design that the new person he creates in Christ is nurtured from his birth to maturity in the church for which Jesus gave his life.  The church is “a people who belong to God and declare the praises of him who called them out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9-10; Acts 2:42-47; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 5:14-21; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 2:1-10; 4:1-16; Romans 12:3-8)
